The film Sinners by Armenian-American producer Sev Ohanian, created in collaboration with Ryan and Zinzi Cooglers, has received a record-breaking 16 nominations at the 2026 Academy Awards, thus becoming the most-nominated film in the history of the Oscars.
Sinners has been nominated in several major categories, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Original Screenplay, etc.
With its 16 nominations, Sinners has surpassed previous record-holding films such as Titanic, La La Land, and All About Eve, which had each received 14 nominations.
This marks a historic achievement both for the film and for Sev Ohanian who will become the first Armenian-American filmmaker in history to be nominated in the Best Picture category at the Academy Awards.
The 98th Academy Awards ceremony will take place on March 15 at 7:00 PM (Los Angeles time), which corresponds to March 16 at 3:00 AM (Yerevan time).
